Want the names and images of all the currently revealed 5th gen Pokemon from the upcoming Pokemon Black and White versions in one convenient place? Well, this is the post to check out! As every new Pokemon is revealed, I will update this post with the latest info, so bookmark this and keep checking back for the most recent news. So far, 52 new 5th generation Pokemon have been revealed… bringing the total number of Pokemon from 493 to 545. There will be over 100 new Pokemon, so there are plenty more to be revealed! I’ve also decided to include certain rumors just in case they turn out to be true, including some leaks that we aren’t certain of just yet. Hit the jump for the full list!

Latest update: LOTS MORE new rumors from Pokexperto added, including fanart of supposed new Pokemon. Not only that, but Serebii just posted some information as well that matches up exactly with what Pokexperto has been saying, which is further evidence it’s real. Having said that, they are still rumors, though I personally think they are real. There is no confirmation one way or the other yet though, so that’s why it’s still in the rumors section. I will continue to stealth edit this post with more Pokexperto rumors so keep checking back every few hours for that.

The Isshu region is where the 5th generation games, Pokemon Black and White, take place. It’s been confirmed that you will only see 5th gen Pokemon until the game ends (after the Elite Four). Once you beat the Elite Four, I assume there will be older Pokemon available. You can also transfer Pokemon in from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver. But the Isshu region itself will only contain new Pokemon until you beat the Elite Four. Want to see the new Pokemon? Check them out below!

Destructoid – 85
Despite some sticking points in the mini-game department, its quirky personality and replay value make Guilty Party one of the best multiplayer party games to hit the Wii.

IGN – 80
Guilty Party is a great game for families and more casual players. The characters and gameplay both have an all-ages appeal that’s hard to come by in most games today.

Game Informer – 80
If you’re a fan of board games or enjoy gathering people around the TV to play together, Guilty Party will have you scouring for evidence and unmasking crooks for weeks. [Sept 200, p.94]

Joystiq – 80
So while more hardcore players may scoff at the very idea of party games, and Guilty Party definitely doesn’t necessarily avoid the inherent pitfalls of the genre, it’s still some of the most fun you’ll have on your Wii with a crew of interested buddies.

Game Revolution – 75
Despite several artificial restraints, Guilty Party is proof that you can turn a board game, a detective story, and mini-games – if just by combining them all together – into a title that doesn’t incite collective yawns.

Cheat Code Central – 74
The Story Mode is the real highlight of this package, while the Party Mode helps to add longevity to the title after you’ve solved the main mystery.

Nintendo Power – 70
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Guilty Party had some genuinely funny moments. [Oct 2010, p.89]

Double-digit declines return to the US game industry in a month dominated by EA Sports’ football sim; Mafia II has disappointing debut, Xbox 360 top platform for second month in a row.

After months of larger-than-expected year-over-year sales declines, the US game industry got a reprieve of sorts in July, which saw revenues slip just 1 percent. Unfortunately, that reprieve ended in August, according to figures released by the NPD Group today.

According to the industry research firm, overall US non-PC retail game sales slipped 10 percent during the month to $818.9 million. Hardware slipped 5 percent to $282.9 million, software dropped 14 percent to $403.5 million, and accessories fell 6 percent to $132.4 million.

Madden 11 left the retail sales field tired but triumphant.

In the hardware race, the winner was once again the Xbox 360, topping the chart for an unprecedented second month in a row. Thanks to the introduction of the $200 4GB Xbox 360 two months after its $300 250GB sibling hit the market, Microsoft sold 356,000 units of its console to domestic customers.

“With Halo: Reach coming to market next week, if hardware sales react in a similar fashion to what was experienced when Halo 3 was launched in September 2007, September could be a huge sales month for Xbox 360 hardware,” said NPD analyst Anita Frazier.

In second was the once perennial top platform, Nintendo’s DS, with 342,700 units. Third place went to the Wii with 244,300 units–barely beating the 226,000 PlayStation 3s Sony sold during the month. Frazier noted that the PS3 has now had 13 months of consecutive sales growth, which began in earnest following the introduction of the $300 PS3 slim last August.

Once again, lagging far behind was the PSP, selling a mere 79,000 units during the month for last place.

To nobody’s surprise, Madden NFL was the month’s top game, selling 920,800 units on the Xbox 360 and 893,600 units on the PS3–a nearly even split. The PSP and Wii editions did not make NPD’s top 10 chart.

In third place was Nintendo’s Super Mario Galaxy 2, selling a comparatively modest 124,600 units. The Xbox 360 version of Take-Two’s well-reviewed Mafia II saw a disappointing debut of just 121,600 units, which was good enough for fourth place. The PlayStation 3 edition of the well-reviewed 2K Czech-developed mobster simulator landed in seventh place, but NPD only releases figures for the top five games of each month.

In fifth with 110,400 units was New Super Mario Bros. for the DS, which has been a recurring guest star on NPD’s top 10 despite being over four years old. Sixth place belonged to another catalog Nintendo title featuring bounding plumbers, New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii.

Eighth place went to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for the Xbox 360, while the 360 version of NCAA Football 11 tackled ninth place. In 10th was Wii Fit Plus, the revamped version of Nintendo’s ever-popular fitness trainer.

Year to date, non-PC US retail game sales total some $8.37 billion, down 8 percent from the first eight months of 2009. Hardware sales are down 12 percent to $2.71 billion, while software sales have slipped 8 percent to $4.32 billion. By contrast, accessory sales are actually up 4 percent to $1.34 billion.

GamesIndustry.biz Reports:

The latest firmware updates for Nintendo’s DS and Wii are reportedly preventing the function of many flashcarts and modifications designed to enable piracy and homebrew on the machines.

Officially the Nintendo DSi Menu Ver 1.4.1U update, which became available on Tuesday, is listed as “providing behind-the-scenes improvements to system performance” but many users of unsanctioned storage devices are claiming that the true intention of the update is to block the use of flashcarts.

Not all flashcarts have been affected, with the notorious R4 apparently escaping the fix, but many models have been disabled following the update.

The import, advertising and distribution of DS flashcarts was ruled to be illegal across the UK in July.

Wii homebrew users are also reporting that the Wii Menu 4.3U update has disabled some features which let them use unofficial homebrew material on the console.

The update itself warns customers that “if your Wii console includes unauthorized modifications this update may detect and remove unauthorized content causing immediate or delayed inoperability of your console” before they install it.

The reports follow hot on the heels of Sony’s recent 3.42 firmware release for the PlayStation 3, which prevents the controversial Jailbreak dongle, the first device to circumvent the PS3′s anti-piracy measures successfully, from working.

Updating firmware is optional, but many new software releases traditionally require the latest system software to function.

Have you submitted your T-Shirt Design yet? If not, be sure to do so by midnight (Eastern Time) on Monday, September 13, 2010! At that time, we will compile all the designs and start a contest for the winner. This could be YOU!

Hey everyone. How cool would it be to have WiiNintendo t-shirts? Then, when we go to events like PAX or E3, we could represent and advertise! We think it would be great if we our own readers/members made up some designs! Feel free to use the existing WiiNintendo logo/design as much as possible, so that things can look similar, but also be creative. We cannot wait to see what you all come up with.

The designs will be placed in a forum thread, and we will vote on a winner. The winner will receive a free game, and their winning design will go up for sale on a tshirt on our Zazzle store. We may even choose more than one!

So, let your creative juices flow! The deadline for designs is midnight (Eastern time) on September 13, 2010. As for where to post those designs, head to our forum thread.

To celebrate the forthcoming launch of the revamped classic, Haunted House, on Wii, Atari has released some “then” and “now” screenshots. Can you spot which is the present-day screenshot?! Let’s just say that the new Haunted House has knocked a few of the rough edges off the original 1981 2600 Atari classic. And to think this used to be considered cutting edge gaming! Then again, Pong used to be considered cutting-edge gaming! Aah, the good old days! In the original Haunted House game, Samuel Silverspring was in search of the pieces of a magical urn. Now, as Samuel Silverspring’s grandchild, you find yourself searching for clues that will shed a little light on his mysterious disappearance, 30 years previous. And talking of light, it’s a main part of the gameplay, with players using different light sources to illuminate their journey through the haunted house of the title, Graves Mansion. On your way through the mansion, you’ll also get to find various hidden objects that will aid you in your quest. Players can expect to face pesky poltergeists, scary skeletons, and all manner of creepy critters as they hunt for the four lost pieces of the magical urn, with the ultimate aim of reassembling the urn and defending their family’s legacy.

Still no official word as to when Haunted House will be hitting the stores for Wii, but it should be very soon.

Latest update: Even more rumors from Pokexperto added, including fanart of supposed new Pokemon.

As many of you may have seen (or not) WiiNintendo.net and our forums WiiFuse.com (WiiNintendo.net/forums) have been CRAWLING the past week or so.

I’ve spent countless hours messing around with plugins, running SQL tuner/optimizer scripts, repairing databases, etc.

With the help of my host MediaTemple we systematically went through all SQL queries and slowly but surely discovered a few leaks in the site.

- Our images were being hotlinked from other sites (some were x-rated spam sites). So, I wrote a line of code in our .htaccess file to stop that. I also installed a plugin to wordpress to help with hotlinking.

- We were getting SQL queries (400 in 1 minute) from crawlers and bots. Some reputable like Google and Yahoo!, but there were some other ones from Brazil and other undetermined IP’s that would consistently be crawling the site. We blocked them all.

- The site was still acting up and we eventually found that de-activating the Disqus commenting system brought the site up to blazing fast speeds.

Next steps are to continue without Disqus for a few days and make sure everything is still running full steam ahead. I’ll look into re-installing Disqus when it can play nice with my server.

Edit 1: It Appears that Disqus Plugin Version 2.48 in particular is the problem, so I downgraded to 2.46. We’ll see if this is indeed the culprit.

Konami has today released new screenshots and in-depth details about the Wii version of PES 2011, which is due for release this October. The game’s development is being overseen by producer Akiyoshi ‘Greyhound’ Chosogabe and his team who were also responsible for last year’s game. According to Konami, PES 2011 follows the lead set by the Next Gen console versions of the game by concentrating on giving the player more control over the action than ever before, including true multi-directional dribbling, which allows users to run and turn in all 360-degrees, and gives the player greater responsiveness when controlling the ball.

PES 2011 for Wii also retains the dual control methods pioneered by last year’s game. Players can either opt to play the game with their Wii Remote and Nunchuck, using the former to pick out passes or send players on runs, and the latter to totally control the player who has the ball, or they might prefer to use the Wii Classic Controller to play in a more “old school”, conventional style, with the left-hand stick offering full 360-degree movement, and the right stick enabling players to change cursors more efficiently. Players will also have the option to play against rivals using different control methods , whether they are online or offline.

Other key new features outlined by Konami today include being able to tailor the runs that players make in set-piece situations. The Free Run Set Up enables users to assign several players to make runs before the kick is taken, and to run their players into space to create goal-scoring opportunities easily when the kick is being taken, by moving players to bring opposition markers out of defensive positions. A new camera option is also available during corner kicks, to enable users to zoom in or change the camera angle so that both teams can execute finer controls.

The Wii version of PES 2011 also includes a much wider range of feints and skills, as well as more realistic player models and animations. The individuality of players has been emphasised, with more attributes allocated to their abilities, as well as more graphical enhancements added for their appearance. Players will even sing the national anthem for certain sides while they await kick off.

Online play has also been improved to keep up with the rest of the enhancements, with the addition of the Copa Santander Libertadores mode to the existing UEFA Champions League options, and the return of the Master League and Champions Road modes. Sounds like they’ve really put a supreme amount of effort into the Wii version of the game!
